Quality Assurance Inspector (Temporary)
We are looking for a temporary (up to four months) Quality Assurance Inspector who can work independently and enjoy the challenge of our configure-to-order, high-growth company.
This individual is responsible for inspecting components, materials, sub-assemblies, and finished product to the documented standards and specifications at incoming and at any point during the production process. This person will also identify nonconformances during all phases of inspection, testing, and assembly of our product.
Typical duties of this position include but are not limited to: measuring parts to verify accuracy of dimensions using optical comparator, micrometer, caliper, gage blocks, gage pins, depth gage, and CMM; creating and maintaining inspection records; sorting defective material; and assisting other functions as a measurement resource.
The ideal candidate will have an ASQ Mechanical Inspector Certification and 2+ years CMM experience, or 3+ years related experience performing mechanical part inspections. This individual must have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings of mechanical parts including a working knowledge of GDT, write routine reports and correspondence, adhere to record handling procedures and maintain an organized work area. This person must be able to prioritize work load with provided guidelines, understand and calculate tolerances, apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and take ownership of the inspection process, including identifying and implementing process improvements. Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, e-mail, and database software proficiency are necessary.
