Modifications to the standard products include:

Modified Rod Ends or Motor Shafts 

This flexibility provides you with the options such as non-standard threaded ends, through-holes, special rod or shaft lengths, and non-standard shaft diameters.

Modified Mounting Features

These  features allow you to receive an actuator with adaptations such as special flange dimensions, non-standard trunnion or clevis diameters, special foot and tapped hole mounts.  These available modifications can make the actuator fit your specific needs, providing a more effective and convenient solution to your motion application.  

Special Connectivity

The availability of special connectivity allows you to specify your preferred type of connectors on the actuator or motor.  Exlar offers standard connectors to match the cabling of the many servo drives that are available on the market today; however, Exlar recognizes that your application may require special connectors for various reasons, and we are prepared to accommodate that need.

Coatings

Exlar offers a variety of standard product coatings including anodizing, hard coat anodizing, electroless nickel and epoxy coatings.  We also regularly provide actuators and motors to customers with coatings specific to their requirements.  This may include customer specified paint, electrolyzing, Teflon coating, or a variety of other options.  Providing the option for special coatings allows Exlar’s products to be easily introduced to your specific application’s environment, or match the other components in your system.

Exlar’s standard products are offered in steel and aluminum combinations, and in stainless steel.  However, Exlar understands that similar to offering special coatings, special materials also are often required by the customer.  Exlar has manufactured its actuators from special materials such as aircraft aluminum and monel and will review the possibility of other special materials.

Electrical Modifications

Utilizing a very flexible motor manufacturing process, Exlar is able to offer electrical modifications to its motors as well.  You can receive motors wound for the optimum speed for your application through  Exlar’s offering of Ke and Kt values other than the wide offering in our standard product catalog.

Firmware and Software

Exlar also offers modifications to its Tritex Electronics.  Although the standard Tritex firmware and software offers features and flexibility to solve most applications needs, Exlar recognizes the occasional need for special features in this area, and we are prepared to work with you to provide what is required.  Custom firmware, custom software and electronic hardware modifications are opportunities we’d like to discuss and make available to our customers.
