The Oil and Gas industry commonly requires actuators that can be installed in hazardous or explosive environments. Most applications are outdoors, which can be problematic for standard pneumatic actuators due to airline problems in varying temperatures.

High performance actuators are needed in oil and gas pipelines in order to run at the highest safe pressure. Many existing hydraulic actuators such as the Fisher 350 series are now obsolete, and finding replacement parts are near impossible. Exlar Tritex Series actuators are a perfect choice for replacing existing hydraulics and can easily be retrofitted in the field. A fully integrated system designed for outdoor use with Class I Div 2 ratings makes the Tritex the perfect choice in both northern and southern climates. Analog control as well as Modbus RTU is standard, with the option of Ethernet IP.
At the well site, Exlar is a good choice for choke valve applications. Proper control of fluid velocities is critical, and the response time and stiffness of Exlar actuators make us an excellent choice. Products are available in Class I Div 1 configurations.
